"The Education Challenge" Campaign for Caring
In 2003, 756 qualified applicants were denied admission to Arizona nursing education program because of lack of capacity, according to the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Arizona can solve the nursing shortage in our hospitals, community health centers, skilled nursing facilities and other healthcare settings by expanding the current capacity of the state's nursing education programs to prepare more nurses.
This is the goal of CARE (Coalition for Arizona RN Education), an alliance of organizations that the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association's Campaign for Caring is building.
CARE is supporting a demonstration program called Arizona's Partnership for Nursing Education, which would double the state's nursing education program enrollment by 2009.
Arizona's healthcare community invites you to become part of the solution to one of Arizona's most critical and solvable challenges: the lack of capacity in our state's nursing education programs. Please let Arizona's leaders know you support expanding the capacity of nursing education by signing the on-line pledge of support for the CARE initiative.
